Familiaritree is built for family history. Your tree, people, notes, and account details are treated as private. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
What we collect
To run the service we store:
- Account details you provide, such as email address, display name, and password credentials.
- Family tree content you enter or import, including people, relationships, places, dates, and notes.
- Access choices you make, such as who you invite to a tree and what role they have.
- Limited technical records needed to operate and secure the site, such as sign-in activity and service logs.
How we use your data
We use this information only to:
- Provide and improve Familiaritree for you and the people you invite.
- Authenticate accounts, protect against abuse, and keep the service reliable.
- Communicate about your account when needed, for example registration review or security notices.
We do not use your family history for advertising, profiling for sale, or marketing lists.
No selling or sharing for others' gain
We do not sell personal data. We do not share your family tree content with third parties for their own marketing, analytics products, or commercial reuse.
Tree content is visible only to you and to people you deliberately grant access. Site operators may access data only as needed to run, secure, or support the service, or when required by law.
Service providers
Hosting and infrastructure providers process data solely to keep Familiaritree available (for example storing encrypted databases and serving the application). They are not given your family history for their own use.
Your choices
- You can edit or remove people and details in your trees at any time.
- You control who can open a tree through sharing and membership settings.
- You may ask for account closure or data removal by contacting the site operators.
Children
Familiaritree is intended for adults managing family history. Do not create an account for a child under 16, and be careful when recording living minors.
